Clever Storage Ideas-When The Kids Toys Become A Clutter Problem

While children bring considerable joy to our lives, they can bring challenges, especially when it comes to a family’s spatial needs.

Residing in a rental with a child can feel cluttered, cramped, and keeping the child’s space clean can frequently feel pointless.

You’ll discover that you constantly have to clean up the clutter despite organizing it several times. Fortunately, these storage solutions will help declutter the toys.

Baskets and Bookshelves

If your child likes running around the rental or have a play space that’s merged with the living space, you will want to remove the toys from the floor once playtime is over.

A great solution for toy storage is a bookshelf that has baskets. Use a bookshelf that holds books already or buy a smaller bookcase that’s exclusively dedicated to toys.

Make sure you store them on the bottom shelves for easy access by the child. Then buy some beautiful baskets made from plastic, wicker, or wood for storage. You can easily remove the toys when it’s time to play and gather them into baskets before slipping them onto a shelf when it’s time for cleanup.

Portable Storage

Consider a portable caddie for gathering and storing balls, action figures, or building blocks. This way, you can bring the toys right to your backyard or playroom table. As the kids grow out of the toys, you can use the caddie for holding garden tools or utensils.

Under the Bed

If your child likes playing in his or her room primarily, consider long, bins that can fit under the bed. This is an excellent way to keep the toys out of sight while decreasing visible clutter. You can also use these bins to store toys under a futon or couch.

Couch or under-bed bins are ideal for storing toys that don’t need daily access but are easy to reach when necessary-like board games, puzzles, or stuffed animals.

Modular System

A modular system that comprises closed and open storage solutions can bring order to a cluttered play space. Low, broad drawers are helpful for medium-to-huge toys, while a bench with cubbies beneath is ideal for storing extra pillows or stuffed animals.

Tote Bags and Coat Hooks

Another great way to store toys in a bedroom or playroom is with labeled tote bags and wall-mounted coat hooks, which you can access at local craft stores.

Use a permanent marker to indicate the kind of toys every tote will hold. Then mount the hooks to the wall and hang the tote bags. You’ll discover the neat and organized storage solution still permits your kids to access their preferred belongings easily.

Additionally, you can exchange labeled totes with clear pouches or plastic bags, so children can view the contents inside.

Closet

Consider the combination of cubbies, hanging rods, and drawers in your child’s closet in the bedroom. These will help store toys and clothes. You can also use the space beneath drawers for pull-out baskets that can offer a place for odd-shaped toys.

Beside Basket

Small toy cars can frequently end up scattered around the home or missing. Consider placing a basket on an open shelf underneath a nightstand, allowing kids and parents to store and gather the cars.

Final Thoughts

If you live in a rental with children, you’re probably wondering how to keep the space organized. Fortunately, these simple tips and solutions will help your space look tidy.
