With the increasing pollution levels, the air around continues to deteriorate daily, increasing the likelihood of diseases such as sinus, bronchitis, and several other breathing issues. While relevant bodies and authorities are doing their best to offer solutions, you must take measures to decrease the levels of pollution.

While you can’t avoid the pollution, you could maintain clean air indoors by investing in indoor plants. Selecting the appropriate plants will help replenish the oxygen you inhale. Here’s a list of the must-have indoor plants if you wish to enhance the air quality in your apartment.

Peace Lily

Peace lilies comprise a distinct, white flower that attracts the eye. Besides looking stunning, they can enhance your home by offering clean, oxygen-rich air.

You’ll discover the plants are excellent at eliminating air pollutants such as trichloroethylene and benzene, which are common in offices and homes. The lush plant also increases humidity levels indoors, an advantageous quality for dry climates. The plant is ideal if you’re a beginner or your home has little sunlight.

Weeping Fig

Also known as the Ficus tree, the popular houseplant is efficient at purifying the air indoors. In particular, it’s effective at removing xylene, formaldehyde, and toluene. The low-maintenance plant thrives well indoors and outdoors.

If you want it as a houseplant, put it in an area with plenty of bright natural light. Don’t position it directly in the sun, otherwise; it might burn. Make sure you water it often but permit the soil to dry before you add more water to prevent root rot.

Beware that the plant is poisonous to pets, especially cats and dogs. Therefore, you might want to take extra measures to ensure they don’t ingest any component of this plant.

Snake Plant

The pointy plant is great at cleaning smog, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene from the atmosphere. Similar to aloe, it increases oxygen and eliminates carbon dioxide from the atmosphere at night, making it ideal for bedrooms.

The low-light plant is suitable for beginners and can endure some neglect. Although it requires occasional watering, it favors drier conditions. The plant comes in numerous varieties with distinct and stunning leaf patterns. They merge yellow, dark green, and other hues into a stunning canvas of patterns and fresh colors.

Gerber Daisy

The stunning flowers come in numerous striking colors. The appropriate variety can easily accent any room. Wide, green leaves frame the plant’s bright blooms. Gerber daisies aren’t merely pretty flowers.

They’re excellent at cleaning the air and producing oxygen. They can eliminate formaldehyde, benzene, and trichloroethylene from your home. If you have a sunny window facing south, your plant will flourish. You must keep them in moist soil and bright light.

Don’t permit the soil to dry between watering and ensure they obtain enough sunlight and you’ll certainly have beautiful flowers and clean air.

Devil’s Ivy

The popular house plant comprises evergreen leaves with heart-shaped leaves. You’ll find them sold in ornamental hanging baskets. You should keep it near a window away from direct sunlight. The plant is popular because of its looks and the fact that it’s easy to care for.

If you’re looking to improve the indoor air in your apartment or home, you should consider this list of options.
