If you’re seeking unique finds to fill your apartment, Houston retailers have what you need. Whether you’re an experienced picker looking for retro and Americana wares or a veteran collector, Houston has a wide range of resources that celebrate bygone eras. Here’s a list of places to buy vintage décor for your rental.

 Adkins Architectural Antique and Treasures

The local renovation hotspot offers ready garden and home pieces. Situated on the corner of Berry and Fannin, you can expect a wide range of patio furniture, salvaged planters, and fountains lining the property’s exterior.

In the warehouse space, you’ll find rows of reclaimed doors organized by size, style, and need. The starting price is $50. The three-story house also offers an endless range of vintage hardware, moldings, stained glass, and fixtures.

Adkins has offered an eclectic blend of architectural salvage elements for the garden and home for over 30 years. It specializes in European and American elements, for instance, light fixtures, fireplace mantels, and antique plumbing essentials including pedestal sinks and tubs on legs.

Antique Pavilion

For over 20 years, Antique Pavilion has been a popular destination for architects, designers, stylists, and decorators. Situated in the center of Upper Kirby districts and River Oaks, the upscale multi-dealer shop features items from 60 dealers who help ensure its inventory of authentic collectibles and antiques is ever changing.

Inside, you’ll find various objects ranging from small to monumental exhibited in individual shops or displayed in the distinct Showcase Gallery. You’ll find a blend of accessories, jewelry, furniture, and sterling silver from the 17th, 18th & 19th century.

Other highlights comprise a broad selection of French furniture, English ceramics, and Victorian jewelry. The Pavilion is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Heights Station

Since 1977, the Heights Station has offered locals American and European furnishings. Situated not far from Washington Avenue, the place unfolds in over 5,000 sq ft of space. Although you’ll find that the inventory is always changing, you can expect to find lamps, furniture, collectibles, and memorabilia. In case the store doesn’t have what you want, the staff will gladly recommend alternative resources.

The Guild Shop

The resale thrift shop specializes in consignments and donations of gently used furniture, housewares, jewelry, artwork, and rugs. Since 1962, the Guild Shop has maintained a rotating inventory of pieces ranging from garden furniture and retro chairs to vintage cabinets.

The 11,000 sq ft shop is popular for upscale consignment stuff including designer clothing, furniture, jewelry, and household items. Additionally, it has resale items such as books, kitchenware, collectibles, ornamental objects, and vintage items. The longer the items remain on the floor, the lower the price.

August Antiques

The family-owned shop has two buildings filled with rare books, vintage lighting, McCoy pottery as well as pharmacy finds and religious artifacts. Outside, you’ll find a huge selection of planters, furniture, architectural accents, and vintage signage. The unique business also offers numerous unusual finds from the western and upstate New York as well as New England states.

Final Thoughts

Vintage décor adds a sense of intrigue to a living space while increasing the aesthetic. Regardless of what you’re looking for, these businesses have what you need for your apartment.
