The highlight of the festival is the Pumpkin Village, which features over 75,000 pumpkins, squash, and gourds.

State Fair of Texas 2015
Since its inception, State Fair of Texas has celebrated Texas by promoting education, community involvement, and agriculture through quality entertainment in a family-friendly atmosphere.
This year’s 24-day event will highlight exhibits, entertainment, and competition at Fair Park, Dallas. The tradition revolves around food and fun for various age groups. The annual event typically kicks off with a parade through downtown Dallas.
Plan to spend on rides, great food, and games, but don’t forget the various free and fun activities. You’ll appreciate that livestock shows, concerts, and various attractions are free. You’ll also find that the event has something for everyone.

Canstruction 2015 will run until October 18 in the Science Museum situated at Fair Park. The event is a competition between local engineering/architectural firms using canned products to form gravity defying structures.
At the end of the event, the demolition of all structures will take place, and food donation will occur at the North Texas Food and Tarrant Area Food Bank.
You’ll also have the opportunity to vote for your favorites while making individual donations through your phone. The exhibit will take place daily from 10am-7 pm.
