Food & Entertainment

Most people associate Dallas with beautiful architecture, stunning museums, and boutique shopping. Furthermore, there’s a lot of buzz around craft beer, especially among drinkers. However, the city also boasts new spots that focus on wine.

A good wine bar serves a wide range of customers, from those who can’t differentiate between a Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay to experts who wish to try a new release before purchasing a couple of cases for their cellars. Here’s a list of bars you can check out if you’re in Dallas

Mercy Wine Bar

Mercy Wine Bar is a favorite spot in North Dallas. The bar is versatile whether you simply wish to unwind over a glass of wine or enjoy some food. You’ll find a couch-laden lounge for live music and optimal relaxation.

The spot revolves around the wine experience, so its menu mostly focuses on wine pairings and food. Mercy offers approximately 100 wines by the glass and 50 by the bottle.

You’ll discover the smaller plates are intended to encourage you to try numerous dishes and pair them with various wines. The cozy setting encourages customers to either dine at a table or unwind on one of the numerous chairs or couches, making it a great spot for a nightcap.

The Alcove

By day, The Alcove is a coffee shop and an inviting wine bar by night. At 7 a.m., you’ll find seasoned baristas brewing your preferred espresso drinks, which you can enjoy with sandwiches or freshly baked pastries.

After that, patrons can have wine while enjoying the free WiFi. You can also enjoy comfortable seating. The spot offers an extensive wine selection, which highlights lesser-known producers. Patrons can opt for take-out or relax at the couch in the lounge.

Cork Wine Bar

Cork boasts over 700 wines and specializes in rare wines. You’ll begin the sipping process by buying a Cork Card and swipe it at any of the themed tasting stations across the spot. While there, you’ll use touch screens to select a wine and order cheese or other cyclic snacks.

After picking your favorites, a server will deliver your order, which you can enjoy in the decanting room, on the sofa, or on the patio.

This spot uses a unique concept that attracts numerous wine experts, though it’s also perfect if you’re new to wine. Ensure you enjoy assorted cheese and take advantage of the happy hour.

Crú A Wine Bar

Crú began with a small menu featuring wine-friendly foods but has since evolved into a fully-fledged restaurant.

Patrons can access tasting flights in themed groups, for instance Charming Chardonnays. The venue offers a list featuring more than 300 wines by the bottle. In terms of food, a seared diver scallop along spinach risotto is a perennial favorite.

If you’re in a group, sharing plates is ideal. If you’re seeking a quick bite before heading for a movie, you can simply order a medium-crust pizza.

You’ll also find the fried Brie with black pepper and honey irresistible. You can also enjoy the artisan cheeses with recommended pairings.

If you’re visiting and are wondering where to start, this guide will prove helpful.
