The Texan’s are known for coining the phrase, “everything is bigger in Texas” – which is almost an understatement when you consider the size of their golf courses.

Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to spend an afternoon, or a PGA worthy course to test your skills, these golf courses are perfect if you’re looking for fun activities in Dallas TX.

Cedar Crest Golf Course

The Cedar Crest Golf Course was the home of the 1927 PGA Championship and is considered by many to be one of the best courses in the state.  The skyline view of Downtown is spectacular and even attracts people who don’t play.

Keeton Park Golf Course

The Keeton Park Golf Course has been recently renovated and is one of the most picturesque courses in Dallas TX. It’s also home of the Audubon Sanctuary, which houses native wildlife and plants from the area.

Stevens Park Golf Course

Stevens Park Golf Course contains 38 sand bunkers and 18 holes. It’s an enjoyable park for people of all levels and welcomes families. It also runs weekly and private classes for both newcomers and experienced pros.

Dallas Cowboys Golf Club

The Dallas Cowboys Golf Club is the world’s only NFL themed golf course. While the fees are pricey, it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re a Cowboy’s fan, even if it’s just to see the vast collection of memorabilia.

Twin Lakes Golf Course

The Twin Lakes Golf Course is without a doubt the most scenic golf courses in the area. While it’s a bit of a drive, it’’s certainly worth the effort. The course itself is very well priced and built in the middle of the country, so there are no distractions whatsoever.

Iron Horse Golf Course

The Iron Horse Golf Course is a must for any Dallas-based golfer. It’s located in North Richland Hills and has a very interesting landscape which will be sure to leave an ever-lasting stamp on your memory.

Tangle Ridge Golf Club

The Trangle Ridge Golf Club is an award winning course that’s riddled with elevation changes, which makes it a challenge, even for the best. The price is more than reasonable and the pacing is usually very good.

Tenison Park Golf Club

If you’re looking for a golf club with a lot of history, the Tenison Park Golf Club is a must-see – the legendary Titanic Thompson and Lee Trevino earned their reputations here. The park itself features two courses of varying difficulty; the Highlands and the Glen.

Champions Circle Golf Club

Located next to the Texas motor speedway, the Champions Circle Golf Club is a beautiful course that’s ideal for golfers of any level. The scenery is stunning, the staff are friendly and the course is in great shape.

The Tribute Golf Club

The Tribute Golf Club is a little on the pricey side; however, it’s well looked after and has some of the best amenities any of the courses have to offer.

Golf is a big part Texan culture and one of the most popular activities in Dallas TX during the summer season.
