When you think of dining in Dallas TX during the summer, you probably imagine sitting in the garden drinking an ice cold beer while grilling ribs on the barbecue.
Texan style barbecues are certainly pleasing, but they are by no means your only choice of cuisine. Dallas TX is a very cosmopolitan city and is home to a wide array of different dining options.
These 3 new restaurants have been gaining a lot of attention in the media and are certainly worth checking out if you’re in Dallas TX during the summer.
Stock and Barrel
The Stock and Barrel is the latest edition to the Bishop Arts District. Established by locally renowned chef Jon Stevens, it’s tipped to be one of the hottest restaurants in town. Stevens has promised a menu full of high-quality dishes focused around traditional wood burning grill and rotisserie cooking techniques.
While Stevens is remaining pretty tight lipped about the menu, expect handmade pasta and dumplings; homemade French fries with a vast selection of sauces; hog roasts, steak and plenty of other succulent meats that are suitable for roasting over a fire.
The Establishment
When the sun is shining there’s nothing better than a nice seafood platter. The Establishment is a new oyster bar located in Uptown and has been in development for over three years! It was originally scheduled to open in October 2012; however, various delays came to pass and it’s only just managed to open its doors.
The Establishment is primarily a seafood restaurant and boasts ten different types of oyster. In addition, it has homemade duck ham, goat chorizo and lardo. Head chef Brent Hammer, has stated that The Establishment will soon start sharing the same dining space as its close neighbour Smyth, which is especially beneficial if you’re dining with somebody who doesn’t like shelled fish.
Spoon Bar and Kitchen
Rated number one on Texas Monthly’s 2014 list of “the best new restaurants in Dallas,” the Spoon Bar and Kitchen hits the sweet spot between imagination and satisfaction. Established by chef John Tesar, this seafood restaurant has a noble cause. Not only does it provide the best seafood in town, but all of the fish are caught using methods that don’t compromise the oceans.
At a glance the Spoon Bar and Kitchen might seem pricey; however, for seafood of such high-quality, you certainly get more than you pay for.
If you’re a fan of seafood, these 3 new restaurants in Dallas TX have plenty to offer. In addition, the city is filled with prestigious Tex-Mex and barbecue joints; or if you’d rather enjoy a taste from the East there are plenty of Chinese, Thai and sushi places scattered around.
