Dallas Arboretum
The Dallas Arboretum is located near White Rock Lake and is home to hundreds of thousands of plants and flowers. While entrance is $15, members of the organization get free general admission.
Fountain Place
Dallas’ Fountain Place is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. If you appreciate architecture and want to marvel at the dancing water as it ascends skyward, Fountain Place is the place to be.
African American Museum
The African American Museum is the only establishment in the Southwest that’s specifically devoted to African American art and culture. It offers free admission every day (except holidays) from 10am to 5pm.
Nasher Sculpture Center
If you’re an art enthusiast, no doubt you’ve already heard of the Nasher Sculpture Center. This prestigious museum is free on the first Saturday of every month between 10am and 2pm, so make sure you get in line early.
Dallas Heritage Village
The Dallas Heritage Village is a living history museum that hosts storytimes, mock gun fights and plenty of fun activities for all of the family. Children under 3 years old are granted free entry; however, adults only need to pay a mere $9 admission charge.
Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame
No trip to Dallas TX would be complete without experiencing traditional cowboy culture. The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame costs only $5 and features many authentic items that survived the Wild West era.
Galaxy Drive In
The Galaxy Drive In theater is perfect during hot summer nights. It mainly shows family friendly movies and costs only $6 for adults and $3 for children. If you’d like a night without the kids, it also shows R-rated movies a couple times per month.
Cedar Ridge Preserve
Dallas TX is riddled with hiking and cycling trails. If you want to enjoy the scenery the Cedar Ridge Preserve is the perfect spot and contains over 46 acres of natural refuge.
Surf and Swim
The Surf and Swim water park is one of Dallas’ most popular attractions during the summer. Entrance is only $7, which provides access to the wave pool and water slides.
The Frontiers of Flight Museum
The Frontiers of Flight Museum is a 100,000 square foot airplane hangar and educational center that contains over 25 aircrafts, including the Apollo 7 command module. Adult entry is only $7 and it’s open from 10am to 5pm.
In addition, there are plenty of great places to eat in Dallas TX, especially if you want to enjoy a traditional Tex-Mex barbeque with an ice cold beer.
