The Bishop Arts District is a small shopping and entertainment district that’s filled with independent stores, restaurants, bars, theatres, coffee shops and art galleries.
The area is famed for its converted warehouses, many of which were originally developed in the 1920’s. This gives it a sense of antiquity and charm that quite simply can’t be matched by other parts of the city.
Although the Bishops Arts District is small, it has a lively atmosphere and there’s plenty to do in the area. If you’d prefer to live in a quieter residential location, it is within walking distance of Oak Cliff.

Places of Interest
There are two theatres in the Bishop Arts District; the Texas Theatre and the Kessler Theatre. Like most establishments in the area, the Texas Theatre isn’t particularly conventional. The Kessler Theatre is one of the most popular music venues in the city and hosts an array of national and international touring acts, usually with local support. It also has art and photography showings.
