When you think of Dallas TX, no doubt the city skyline is the first image to pop into your head. The Downtown area is the central business district and the home of these iconic buildings.
The Downtown neighborhood is made up of 15 different districts, including the City Center District, Arts District, Farmer’s Market and Deep Ellum (which is also considered East Dallas).
If you are searching for an apartment in Dallas TX, the Downtown district will no doubt be high on your list as it contains everything you’ll ever need within close proximity.
Business and Government
Downtown is where the city’s banks and businesses are headquartered. Like London’s Canary Wharf and New York’s Wall Street, the Central Business District contains many financial institutions, some of which operate out of the skyscrapers – Bank of America Plaza and JPMorgan Chase Tower. In addition, it contains the Dallas City Hall and several other local, regional, state and federal government related buildings. This part is known as the Government District.
Arts District
The Downtown area isn’t all about business and politics, it’s also one of the most creative and innovative parts of the city and contains the world renowned Arts District. This 68 acre plot of land contains some of the most iconic landmarks in the city, including the Nasher Sculpture Center, the Dallas Museum of Art and the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
Deep Ellum
Deep Ellum is situated in both Downtown and East Dallas. It’s known as the city’s entertainment district and one of the most distinguished hotspots for America’s jazz and blues scenes. The area is known for its nightlife and abundance of bars, nightclubs, tattoo parlours and restaurants.
Deep Ellum Apartments
Many of the apartments in Deep Allum are converted loft spaces or industrial-sized warehouses. This makes it a firm favourite among the arts community as the historic buildings offer a great deal of character and charm.
Downtown Apartments
The Downtown area, especially in the business district, contains many serviced apartments and high rise buildings. This neighborhood is mainly favoured by professionals who work in financial institutions and don’t want to commute to work.
Places of Interest
The Downtown area contains many of Dallas’ most popular tourist destinations such as the Dallas World Aquarium, the Crow Collection of Asian Art and the Nasher Scupture Center. The area also has excellent DART transport connections to the outskirts of the city for easy access to the Zero Gravity Thrill Amusement Park and the Dallas Zoo.
The Downtown and Deep Ellum neighbourhoods are wonderful places to live. While apartments in these areas don’t come cheap, they’ll certainly provide a living experience that simply can’t be matched by other parts of the city.
